Scope: Wooster City Schools was in need of additional space for their team locker rooms and weight room area at Follis Field. The project consisted of two separate buildings and a free standing masonry “Portal”. Each building consisted of 3,400 sf slab-on-grade, masonry bearing walls, prefab. wood trusses with a membrane roof, aluminum gutter & downspouts, & masonry veneer. HM doors & frames & aluminum windows & storefront complete the exterior envelope.
The interior scope consisted of sealed concrete floors, sealed & painted CMU walls, painted gypsum board, rubber flooring in weight rooms, restrooms in each building with showers, lockers & ACT ceilings. Both buildings are gas heated, electrically vented, plumbed for portable water, powered for lighting, utility & recreational use. Data & wireless internet were also included in our scope.
Site work included decorative fencing, masonry piers, storm water controls, a brick paver plaza with a colored brick logo, concrete & asphalt paving, parking blocks & striping.
The facility houses 2 new locker rooms, an open air shelter as well as an Athletic Performance Center (weight room) which is a state-of-the-art, strength, fitness, and conditioning facility that was added to the locker room complex to help all their athletes with strength/fitness training. This facility also serves at the main entry where the event tickets are sold.
Self-Performed Services: Sitework, earthwork, utilities, foundations, structural steel, truss & roof sheathing, siding & soffits, HM frames, doors & hardware, acoustical ceilings.
