Tone World International wanted to find a contractor to develop the site of its 130+ acre plot of land, so the owner selected Simonson Construction Services, Inc. for its site development services.
Site Development included:
- Roadway Extension
- Underground Utilities
- Cut and Fill Earthwork Operations
- Storm Retention Ponds
Utilities installed were:
- Underground Storm
- Water and Sanitary
- Sewer Utilities
The underground utility installation required well points in multiple areas to address dewatering issues. Once the utilities were complete, stone was put down for the 900 LF roadway extension. Building pad and parking lot stone were installed at this time.
The site presented challenges due to a natural slope with over 30 ft of elevation changes, poor soil quality due to groundwater discovered during soil borings, and no direct road to the building site. To overcome these challenges, Simonson Construction moved over 250,000 CY of embankment material to construct the new roadway, building pad, and retention ponds. A geo-technical consultant checked compaction and documented all material fill operations.
Simonson Construction served as the Design-Build contractor for the building. Site Development for Tone World International provided a strong start for the building construction.
